My friend and software designer Richard Barnett sent this link to me today, for a Kickstarter project he had seen on line and asked, Useful? Or baffling?
To me it looks like a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.
I would rather have a device that had programable hot keys that recognised which software you where currently in and could adapt i.e. switch ruers on in rulers in Photoshop, Illustrator, In- design and After Effects rather than a dedicated keypad for just Photoshop.
Also I already have a keyboard (which I would need to keep) a Tablet, a mouse, a phone and a screen (and obviously a cup of tea) on my desk, I'd have to have a desk the size of Russia to accommodate this too.
What does appeal though is the icons and colour coded nature of the buttons.
But what do I know, every design under the sun might well have one on there desks in 2 years time!
